New Delhi: India will ensure that those responsible for the Red Fort blast are brought to justice, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said a day after a suspected suicide bomber triggered a high-intensity car explosion in the national capital and killed at least 12 people and injured more than 20. The case has been handed over to the National Investigation Agency, the central counter-terrorism law enforcement agency.
The PM, who is on an official visit to Bhutan, said on Tuesday, “I was in touch with all the agencies investigating this incident throughout last night. Our agencies will get to the bottom of this conspiracy. The conspirators behind this will not be spared. All those responsible will be brought to justice.” Expressing his anguish over the incident, the prime minister said, “I have come here with a heavy heart.”
