Halloween in Ahmedabad 2025 is moving from cosy house parties to full-blown themed nights with striking décor, music and costumes. Once a kids’ affair, it’s now an experiential celebration — from techno raves and Gothic settings to curated parties and costume pop-ups. Fuelled by social media and a buzzing nightlife, young Amdavadis see it as a chance to dress up, express freely, and celebrate something both global and homegrown. Meet four Halloween lovers who prove that eerie can be elegant and creepy can be cool.

This year, I’m dressing as Wednesday Addams: Shivani Joshi

This year, I’m dressing as Wednesday Addams — my favourite childhood cartoon with a dark, modern twist. For me, her horror lies in her dark wit and sarcasm, wrapped in Gothic rebellion and charm. The fun of becoming Wednesday isn’t just about her iconic two braids and all-black attire; it’s about embodying her haunting confidence and deadpan expression. I’m prepping to make the world a little darker — but in style.

I once dressed up as Bellatrix Lestrange: Maulika Patel

I enjoy movies that are supernatural and mysterious, yet light and magical. Films like Harry Potter and horror flicks such as Annabelle and The Conjuring , along with series like Lucifer, are among my favourites.
I once dressed up as Bellatrix Lestrange from Harry Potter. I loved playing the psycho and deranged Bellatrix — relishing my villainous laugh and going berserk all over the place — channelling my inner Bellatrix Lestrange: a little chaos, a little charm, and a whole lot of dark magic. It felt liberating to step into her world for a night, especially since I’ve always been fascinated by fantasy and light horror.

I’m drawn to psychological horror stories: Nakshraaj

I’m drawn to psychological horror stories that go beyond blood and fear. Shutter Island and my 2022 film Raktbeej are great examples — they play with the mind and reveal deeper layers of human emotion. I love complex, morally grey characters in the horror and thriller genres, as they carry darkness, vulnerability, and charm all at once. Speaking of my Halloween look, I’ve stepped into the Joker — a soul caught between pain, chaos, and unpredictability. He represents the darkness of evil in a deeply human way. My prep wasn’t about makeup or costume; it was about understanding his silence — the space between his laughter — because that’s where madness truly lives.

This Halloween, I’m portraying Damon Salvatore: Siddhant Zinzuwadia

I see Halloween as an exchange of cultural curiosity. If people from the West can celebrate Diwali and perform garba, why can’t we explore their traditions too? It’s fun to see Ahmedabad embracing global cultures in its own unique style. I prefer watching horror films based on true events — the kind that get under your skin. This Halloween, I’m portraying Damon Salvatore from The Vampire Diaries — a character that naturally aligns with my personality. He’s intense, witty, and complex — traits I completely resonate with. Honestly, I didn’t need much prep to get into his vibe, but I added some spooky makeup and a bit of blood to give it that extra edge.
