Train services have been halted at Ashton-under-Lyne train station as police respond to an incident. An incident at the station prompted a response from police, paramedics and fire crews. Ambulances and police vehicles can be seen in the car park, while firefighters entered the station.
Services between Manchester and Stalybridge have been paused due to the emergency response. It is currently unclear what the incident is, but disruption is expected until 8pm. National Rail said: "The emergency services dealing with an incident between Manchester Victoria and Stalybridge means all lines are closed. As a result, trains may be cancelled, delayed by up to 30 minutes or revised."
