Our Yorkshire Farm star Amanda Owen has shared an emotional post following a heartbreaking loss. The reality star rose to fame on social media as The Yorkshire Shepherdess, before her Channel 5 documentary series with ex-husband Clive and their nine children. Off-screen, she frequently shares updates on her life as a mum-of-nine, and has been supported by fans after her devastating latest post.

Last week, Amanda shared their beloved family dog, Chalky, had died after a "great life". She had said: "Chalky is fading. She has had her time, and what a great life she has had. But now she is struggling, she is very weak, she is tired, and she keeps falling over. She is not in any pain or anything, and I just have to make sure that she doesn't conclude her life by falling over somewhere silly, so wherever I go, Chalky comes too."

Following the news of Chalky's death, Amanda expressed the difficult period the family have been going through.

Alongside pictures of the pup with her children, and a final one in which they laid Chalky to rest, she wrote: "I can't even begin to describe this last weeks emotions.

"From the absolute sorrow of losing Chalky to the highs of being on stage @lancastergrand from @rts_yorkshire @spiritfairs and to the auction mart via the fields and fells.

"Teamwork and a wing and a prayer made it all happen."

She continued: "Today was a really strange, flat kinda day, firstly I found myself saving the end of a sausage (Chalkys favourite), forgetting that she's no longer here.

"I felt a bit guilty about how we had not really set aside any time to reminisce about Chalky. Then, a moment of clarity!!!!"

Paying tribute, she added: "Chalky was the most disloyal, naughty, thrill seeking, free spirited mutt who was called Chalky Trailarse for a reason.

"She would sally forth without a care in the world knowing full well that she would always somehow find her way back home.

"She'd happily rack me up some serious mileage turning up at distant far flung kennels whereby I'd get a bollocking off a kennel maid. and a hefty bill for board and lodgings.

"To all intents and purposes Chalky lives on, she and her stories still on the move via books television and the stage.

"Chalky, we love & salute you. Thankful for your full on life and grateful for your peaceful dignified end."

Viewers rushed to share their support, with one writing: "What brilliant character. She certainly had a great life."

Another said: "Beautiful photos and memories of your sweet little chalky."

"Reast easy Chalky," someone else added.
